There might be times when you make a change to a Google Site and "all heck breaks loose! So, you can basically revert back to the "older version" of your site. Also,keep in mind, that if you have students working on a collaborative project, you can see when students did edits by going to the revision history.
Here's how: Click any version from the list. Optionally, while viewing a particular version, use the Compare two versions link to see the differences highlighted. After returning to the 'Version history' view, click the Revert to this version link next to the version you'd like to revert to.
Navigation Welcome What is Google Sites? Scroll through the list of versions of your site and find the version of the site you want to restore and revert to. Above the site preview on the left use the Restore this version button and the site will restore that version of the site. Version history retains all the revisions of the site after the version you restored to, so you you do not lose those changes and versions and can revert back to those at any point in time.
Find the version of your site that contains the deleted content you want to restore. Use the Restore this version button above the site preview on the left. Your site will revert to the version where the deleted content existed. Pick the version of the site you want to name.
Either double-click the date or use the three-dot button and choose Name this version and enter the name you want for that site version.
