You can drag the file into the Document bookmark without having to open a second Nautilus window. Simply click, hold, and drag the file from the main viewing pane to the Documents bookmark. Otherwise, it will show the permission denied error message. Some folks get confused while giving the source and destination path, so they get the wrong results.
